It's all about the asymmetric or off-the-shoulder style dresses with bold designs with stripes leading the way. Super-cinched dresses that are held at the waist by super unique gold belts are a glamourous look for summer evenings. Patchwork trousers which give a sense of individulality and maxi skirts are back but with a added frill to create texture and effect. Statement jewellry is a must and adds vibrance to any look.                                                   Vogue Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Show

Vogue have been inspired by fashion in places like Turkey and Morocco. The spring/summer 2013 fashion show for vogue showed a collection of glamour, drama and plenty of sartorial narrative. Surprisingly, no nautical pieces were modelled on the catwalk... It's all about statement grecian.

Last summer beach girl waves/curls took over the trend for hair but this year thats a different story. Hair pulled up high into a messy bun, a tight fierce ponytail or maybe a plait like the model above is what is on trend for summer 2013. Not only because updo's look interesting but they can really show off the statement earings which compliments the outfit.

Volumised, big hair is what it's all about. Back combing will be done this Summer and a lot of hairspray will be used. Shiny, healthy looking hair is a must and not to mention the sun will bring out every woman's colour and make it look glowing. Poker straight hair is definitely not on trend and even though updo's are the styles that have appeared on the catwalk beach curls are still perfect looking for summer. Effortless and natural looks.



Makeup is a worry for every woman, how much to put on, what colours suit best and what products to buy. It's a tricky situation. Summer makeup does not need to be overdone except from that special summer evening where you may be going out for dinner or a family BBQ. I advise not to wear a lot of foundation in summer, mainly because a lot of foundations have SPF in and would block the sun so it would be extremely difficult to get a natural glowing tan. A foundation with a light coverage and no SPF or maybe something like BB cream would be more sufficent. Natural filled in defined eyebrows, a few layers of mascara and a bit of lipgloss is all you need for day time.                                               
                                                           On summer evenings it is always nice to make that special effort. The model in the picture below has fierce dark eyes which go into cat eye flicks. Very defined eyebrows and a dark lip. This makeup really enhances the grecian look and I think would look gorgeous with a tight updo, a long bold maxi dress with a gold belt, statement jewellry and beautiful jewelled sandals. I think this summer will see a variety of unusal, exciting fresh looks that will create a glamourous look and will let women take risks with their looks.
